New River Community College will offer two, two-day handgun safety courses.
The first course will be held Tuesday, March 27, and Thursday, March 29, at NRCC in Dublin.
The second is an April course, held on Tuesday, April 24, and Thursday, April 26, also at NRCC in Dublin.
Both 60$ courses will take place from 6-9 p.m.
The required, six-hour classroom portion, instructed by Joey Williams is intended for individuals who are applying for a handgun permit through the courts, and will cover topics such as the nomenclature of revolvers and/or semi-automatic handguns and safety issues related to handgun ownership. Participants will also learn how to care for, maintain and store their handguns.
Optional range time will be offered on the Saturday following each course.
