CONCERNING THE INTENTION OF THE RADFORD CITY COUNCIL TO PROPOSE FOR PASSAGE AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF AN ESTIMATED MAXIMUM OF $16,800,000 PRINCIPAL AMOUNT OF GENERAL OBLIGATION SCHOOL BONDS, SERIES 2020 FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING THE DESIGN, ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPPING OF PUBLIC SCHOOL FACILITIES
Notice is hereby given to all interested persons of a public hearing concerning the intention of the City Council of the City of Radford, Virginia (the “City”), to propose for passage at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City to be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible in the City Council Chambers, located in the City Administration Building at 10 Robertson Street, Radford, Virginia, an ordinance authorizing the issuance of an estimated maximum of $16,800,000 principal amount of general obligation school bonds of the City. The proposed uses for which more than ten percent of the bond proceeds are expected to be used are the financing and refinancing of capital costs related to the design, acquisition, construction, expansion, renovation and equipping of City of Radford public school facilities, including the renovation and expansion of McHarg Elementary School, and also including costs of issuance of the bonds, all of which constitute a capital project for public school purposes. The Bonds will be sold to the Virginia Public School Authority.
Persons may appear and present their views at the public hearing. A copy of the full text of the ordinance is on file in the office of the City Manager of the City located at 10 Robertson Street, Radford, Virginia 24141.
