Robert “Bobby” Nicholson (left) was honored recently by the Radford Noon Rotary Club as the year’s Service Above Self recipient for his many years of community involvement, including as a long –time past member of Radford City Council. Presenting the plaque is club president Jesse Ring. “Service above self” is the motto of Rotary International, and describes what its members are expected to do as active participants in club projects. Nicholson is involved in a number of clubs, organizations and regional activities, all deemed notable by the board of Radford Noon Rotary in voting the citation.
