ROANOKE – Adam Murphy and Joy Powers, democratic candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives in Virginia’s 9th Congressional District, will be participating in a candidate forum hosted by New River Valley Indivisible this Friday, Feb. 27, in Blacksburg.
Congressman Morgan Griffith (R) has also been invited. Murphy is a software developer from Roanoke County. Powers is a fourth-generation cattle farmer, small business owner, and mother from Bedford County.
Eligible candidates will speak and take questions at the event, scheduled for 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Blacksburg, at 1301 Gladewood Dr.
The Democratic primary will be held June 16, 2026.
