DUBLIN – The New River Valley Commerce Park, a certified, 1,000-acre industrial park in Pulaski County was recognized by the Japan Times’ Southeastern USA Report 2019 as a prime location for Japanese businesses expanding to the United States.

The Park is owned by Virginia’s First Regional Industrial Facility Authority, the VFRIFA, who made the announcement this week.

The Japan Times article describes the site as “build-ready land for companies wanting a strategic location along the U.S. East Coast.”

“We are excited to be recognized for the work VFRIFA is doing with companies around the world in order to encourage new advanced manufacturing facilities in the NRV Commerce Park!” Mary Biggs, VFRIFA Board of Directors Chair said. “The NRV Commerce Park is an incredible asset for the greater New River Valley region of Virginia, which has only been possible through the strategic collaboration of VFRIFA’s member localities.”

VFRIFA is comprised of 11 member localities: the Counties of Bland, Craig, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, and Roanoke; Cities of Radford and Roanoke; Towns of Dublin, Pearisburg, and Pulaski.

These member localities have supported the development of the New River Valley Commerce Park and have been vital to the Park’s advancement.

The NRV Commerce Park has received certifications as an AEP Quality Site- Large Park and as a Tier 4 Virginia Business Ready Site. With all utility infrastructure in place, an industrial access road, an approved 140-acre solar farm, and over a dozen sites to choose from, the NRV Commerce Park is development ready and can accommodate numerous new companies, the announcement said.

The Park is immediately adjacent to the New River Valley Airport, making it an ideal location for companies that have air-freight needs, corporate jets, or for aircraft manufacturers.
