The Roanoke Valley SPCA is holding its 12th Annual SPAYghetti Lunch & Supper on Oct. 24 at a new location, The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church 30 Huntington Blvd. NE, in Roanoke.
“Last year, 824 people were served,” Kathleen Tobin, Roanoke Valley SPCA’s Special Events Coordinator said. “A thousand people is my personal goal. I truly care about this organization and its cause,” she said.
For every six meals sold, an adopted animal can leave the Roanoke Valley SPCA spayed or neutered. Since its opening in 2004, nearly 20,000 pets have been altered in the clinic before being moving on to their forever home.
Lunch will be served from 11- 2p.m., while supper will be served from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $9 in advance and $10 at the door
Advance ticket sales for delivery are sold through October 13th. Advance tickets for both dine-in and take-out will be available until October 23rd. Each ticket includes spaghetti with sauce, bread, salad and a beverage.
In addition to dine-in table service and a self-serve salad bar, the event will feature a bake sale, and, with an id. check, a wine and craft beer bar.
Dine-in and take-out provided by Mamma Maria’s. For large or corporate orders of 10 or more, meals will be prepared by Olive Garden with free delivery by Fetch Virginia.
The Virginia Blood Mobile will also be present at SPAYghetti, each person that donates blood will receive a “Free Dessert Ticket” to redeem inside the event.
All proceeds from the SPAYghetti event will benefit in-house spay or neuter clinic and the brand new mobile spay/neuter clinic of the Roanoke Valley SPCA to help further the organization’s mission of creating a community where there are no homeless cats or dogs.
“The purpose of the mobile unit is so that we are able to get to animals who are unable to reach us. And it will be parked next to the blood mobile so you can to see it at the event,” Tobin said
Tickets are available for sale at www.rvspca.org or at the Roanoke Valley SPCA between noon and 6 pm daily.
“Enjoy a delicious spaghetti meal while curbing the overpopulation of unwanted pets. A win-win deal for everyone!”
