Radford VFW Post 776 Commander Gary Harris said he recently received a phone call from a citizen “asking why there is not a flagpole and flag at Veterans Field. Not knowing, I said I would check on it,” said Harris. “People like to help. In three days, I had a pole and the electric department and street department put it up.
