Former Virginia Tech standout Justyn Mutts has signed an NBA Summer League deal with the Sacramento Kings.
The Millville, N.J., native will lace them up with the Kings after amassing 1,581 points, 1,037 rebounds and 435 assists in his college career.
A fifth-year senior in 2022-23, Mutts averaged 13.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game in guiding the Hokies to the postseason for the seventh straight season. Mutts helped Tech capture its first ACC tournament title in program history in 2022 in Brooklyn, N.Y.
The versatile forward will join fellow Kings rookies Colby Jones, who was selected with the 34th overall pick out of Xavier, and Jalen Slawson, the 54th selection out of Furman on a Summer League roster that is expected to begin a mini-camp next week before the California Classic tips off at Golden 1 Center on July 3. The Kings will be hosting the two-day, six-team event that will also include the Golden State Warriors, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Charlotte Hornets, the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs.
From there, the Kings will play in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, July 7-17.
