Donald G. Mottesheard passed away at Commonwealth Senior Living in Christiansburg, on Feb. 21, 2024. Don was a member of Unity Christian Church in Radford. He graduated Milligan University in Elizabethton, Tenn. and then served in the U.S. Army. After teaching school for a few years in Pulaski, he then worked for the City of Radford for 38 1/2 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Ray and Allie Hurst Mottesheard; sisters Helen Augusta Mottesheard and Geneva Leona Mottesheard; brothers Clifton Hurst Mottesheard; and Samuel Ray Mottesheard; and a nephew Gary Noel Mottesheard.
Survivors include his brother Max Garland Mottesheard; nieces, Candace Mottesheard Smith (Lenny) and Donna Jean Laux (Richard Slagter); nephews Jerry Wayne Mottesheard, Jeffery Mottesheard (Linda), Phillip Mottesheard (Jenny) and many others family members and friends.
The family received friends at Unity Christian Church Thursday, Feb. 29. The funeral service followed. Interment was Mar. 1 in the West View Cemetery in Radford with a military service.
The Mottesheard family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
