Are you looking for great deals, practicing sustainable living, or simply ready to clean out your closets? The Montgomery-Floyd Regional Library has you covered with three free, fun-filled community swap events this July! Whether you’re looking for new school clothes for your kids, an upgrade to your kitchen gadgets, or a fresh start in your craft supplies, we have a swap for you!

Kids Clothing Swap: Christiansburg Library, Saturday, July 19, 2025, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Start the school year off right by swapping outgrown clothes for new-to-you items. Bring clean, gently used kids’ clothing starting Monday, July 14, the day of the swap, or just come to the event to browse! No donations are required to participate. Remaining items will be donated. We’re also accepting new, wrapped school supplies for local families in need.

 Kitchen Supply Swap: Meadowbrook Public Library, Saturday, July 19, 2025, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Reduce waste and refresh your kitchen tools with our Kitchen Supply Swap. Bring usable kitchenware—utensils, gadgets, containers, and more—and swap for something new to you! Drop off donations beginning Monday, July 14 through the day of the swap, or just join us to browse! All unclaimed items will be donated to the Eastmont Thrift Store.

Craft and School Supply Swap: Blacksburg Library, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, 11a.m. – 7 p.m.

Get creative and give your unused supplies a second life! This all-day drop-in swap is perfect for artists, crafters, and students. Donations may be dropped off starting Friday, July 18 or brought the day of. Even if you don’t have items to donate, everyone is welcome. Leftovers will benefit local educators, library programs, and the Creative Reuse Center.

“These swaps are a great way to support families, live sustainably, and build community,” said Kerri Copus, Library Program Coordinator. “Everyone is welcome—no strings attached!”

Don’t miss this chance to save money, find something new, and give back to your neighbors. For more information, visit www.mfrl.org or contact your nearest MFRL branch.
