Helen Louise McClaugherty, 91, of Christiansburg died Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Kroontje Health Care Center. She was born in Goodwins Ferry, VA on September 5, 1926 to the late Robert Lee and Hattie Vaught Meredith.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Dean McClaugherty; a daughter, Bonnie McClaugherty Neal; two brothers, James Robert and William David Meredith; a sister, Christine Morris.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Geneva McClaugherty; daughter, Betty McClaugherty and partner, Kristi Blake; son-in-law, Billy Neal; grandchildren, Sheri Cunningham and husband, Craig, Shelley Kirk and husband, Darin, Todd D. McClaugherty and Rachel Coleman, April McClaugherty and Chris Seagraves; great-grandchildren, Katie Ballard and husband, Caleb, Austin Cunningham, Evan and Taylor Williams, Bevin and Aralyn Blake, Emery Kenny, Lacy Ann McClaugherty, and a great granddaughter on the way; great-great-grandson, Sutton Ballard; brother-in-law, Ronnie Morris; as well as several nieces, nephews and special friend, Mildred Jarrett. The family would like to give a special thank you to everyone at Kroontje Health Center for their care over the years.
Funeral services were conducted July 13, 2018 in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Collins officiating. Interment followed in Birchlawn Burial Park Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home.
