Wilma Franklin Mabry, 80, of Blacksburg, died Friday, March 16, 2018 with her family by her side. She was born in Radford, VA on September 3, 1937 to the late Van Webb and Virginia Sutphin Franklin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Edward Mabry, and special friend, Harry Bowles.
She was a member of Blacksburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and a life member of VFW Post 5311 Auxillary. She was an avid bowler as well as a sports fan, especially of the Virginia Tech Hokies. In her later years, she loved to dance. Wilma retired from Electro Tec after over 40 years of service.
She is survived by her daughters, Patti Mabry and husband, Vincent M. Hanna, Kathi Reed and husband, Douglas; grandchildren, William (Heather) Reed, Benjamin (Kiara) Branch, and Ebonie Hanna; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Reed, Benjamin Branch, Jr.; sister, Dorothy Elkins; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Doris Franklin; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends Terry Arthur, Juliet Dadras, and Julie Crouse.
Funeral Services were conducted on March 20, 2018 in the Blacksburg Christian Church with the Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. Interment followed in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family received friends prior to the service at the church.
