Linda Gail Lowman, 65, of Pulaski Va., (formerly of Tazewell, Va.) passed away peacefully at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center on Saturday, March 28, 2020. She was surrounded with love by her husband and two daughters. Linda lived for her family, her precious grandchildren, her work family at Blue Ridge Cancer Care, her lake buddies, and her time at the beach.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, Elmer J. Whittaker, her mother, Margaret Jean Lockhart, and a brother, Clayton Duane Whittaker.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Frankie L. Lowman. She is also survived by her two daughters and their families: Felicia Lowman-Sikes, Scott Sikes and Madeline Sikes of Meadowview, Va.; Candice Lowman Albert, Shannon Albert, and Lucas Albert of Christiansburg. Also surviving are her sister-in-law and brother-in law, Bill and Erra Sutherland of Harrogate, Tenn.; her brother and sister-in-law, David and Joette Whittaker of London, Ky., and several nieces and nephews.
Per Linda’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time. A private memorial service will be held in Emerald Isle, N.C. at a later date.
Her family would like to thank the outstanding nurses and staff of the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the SECU Family House in Winston-Salem, N.C. The staff of the SECU Family House became Frankie and Linda’s extended family over the course of Linda’s illness, taking meticulous care of them throughout this journey.
