Christiansburg’s Landon Bell was the recipient of this year’s Rick Whitney Memorial Scholarship.

To continue the growth of the building industry, each year, the New River Valley Home Builder’s Association requests applications from the regions graduating high school students who have a desire to pursue higher education in our field.

This year, we are proud to announce Landon Bell, of Christiansburg, as the Rick Whitney Memorial Scholarship recipient. Though we received many outstanding applications, in the end, we choose the student whom we believe will impact the building industry here within the NRV.

As a child, Landon discovered a love of seeing things develop. It was this love, which has lead him to pursue a degree of building construction with a concentration on management. To further his knowledge of the industry, Landon will also seek a real state minor, which will help him sustain a career.

Landon Bell is a fabulous example of a student and future building industry member we would be proud to have in the NRV. He already values to the NRVHBA codes of ethics and we look forward to watching him grow and meet his personal goals in life
