Long-time Christiansburg residents, the Capozzi family, energetic and well-known in town society, not least as keepers of the Bell-Capozzi House on E. Main, will host a celebration of Barbara Bell Capozzi’s life and as “a great cook and a consummate hostess” from 2-5 p.m., tomorrow, Sunday in the Blue Room above the Mockingbird Cafe.
Barbara’s daughter, Donna Capozzi Speaks, is the owner of the Mockingbird Cafe. In celebration of her mother’s life, Donna, her brother and sister, and their dad, Rocco, invite friends to reminisce and enjoy refreshments.
Active in public life, Barbara contributed several recipes to the Montgomery Museum cookbook.
“We will provide refreshments,” Donna said. “We’ll have her favorites: a layered pea salad and her pimento cheese sandwiches, that she loved, and ham biscuits.”
