LewisGale Hospital Montgomery recently opened its newly renovated, state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The new lab is part of nearly $35 million in capital improvements the hospital has invested to enhance the delivery of cardiovascular services, advanced medical equipment, new patient safety, and quality efforts.
The renovated lab, which includes upgraded echocardiogram technology for cardiac imaging, will provide advanced system applications that enhance patient care, make complex procedures safer and simpler, and provide physicians with advanced technology to perform a comprehensive range of diagnostic and interventional procedures.
“The renovation of our cardiac catheterization lab reflects our commitment to provide the highest-level cardiac care in the New River Valley,” said Chief Executive Officer Alan Fabian. “The improvements we are making at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery are investments into the health of the patients and communities we serve.”
LewisGale Hospital Montgomery serves the cardiovascular needs of patients from West Virginia, through the New River Valley, to the Tennessee and North Carolina borders. The hospital’s cardiology team performs elective and 24/7/365 emergent percutaneous coronary intervention with door-to-balloon times well under the national average. The cardiac catheterization lab provides minimally invasive treatments including angioplasty and stenting to open blocked arteries and pacemakers.
