Dear Editor,
Election Day: Will Rogers once said that America has two holidays barely a week apart. One you wear a mask (Halloween), the other you don’t, but should.
Election Day is always the first Tuesday in November. On odd years it is state and local elections, while the federal elections occur on even years (president, Senate, House of Representatives).
2025 is a year for local elections. People say that they only vote on even years when voting for senators and presidents; they feel that is the only time their vote is important.
But your vote in local elections is much more meaningful; it has an effect on what will be done in the future of the community.
Remember, early voting started Sept. 19, any time during the week, no excuse not voting.
