Larry Neil Killough, 89, of Claytor Lake, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022.
He was raised in Jackson, Tenn., the son of the late John F. Killough, Sr., and Quilla Katherine Wegmann Killough.
Larry was the Peat Marwick professor of accounting at Virginia Tech where he taught for 45 years and was head of the accounting department for nine years. He also served as faculty representative for athletics for 19 years and wrote many articles and books. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church in Radford and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Irene K. Killough; a son and daughter-in-law, Gregory Neil and Catherine Killough; a daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and William Demere; grandchildren Paul Demere, Desirae Twilla and husband Kevin, William Demere and wife Nargess, Brittany Killough, Andrea DeLeon, Abigail Wade and husband Alex, and Eliza Mrvan and husband Brandon; two great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by his family.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held in the spring.
The Killough family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
