James “Jim” Floyd Lang, Jr., 73, of Parrott, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2018. He was a U. S. Navy veteran, retired from Federal Mogul and was the former Twin Community Fire Department Fire Chief.
Born on Mar. 28, 1945, Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James, Sr. and Mary Louise Hodge Lang; his wife, Phyllis Diane Long Lang; and a sister, Helen Williams.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, James F., III and Virginia Lang of Floyd; stepson and his wife, Steven and Connie Cox of Pearisburg; sisters and brother-in-law, Patsy Lang Bratton and Lola Lang and Doyle Martin, all of Radford; granddaughter, Amber Lang; step granddaughter, Casey Cox; 2 step great grandchildren; special K-9 companion, Charlene; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Parrott Church of God with Rev. Kenneth Alley and Rev. Eddie Dalton officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Radford where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites.
The family will receive friends tonight from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
