Dot Phillips Lancaster, 87, passed away at her home in Dublin on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022.
She retired from Kollmorgen. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Phillips; sisters Barbara Phillips, Ann Baker, and Helen Monroe; a brother, Davis Phillips; and her first husband, John H. Midkiff, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Lowell L. Lancaster; daughters Jonna Midkiff McGraw (Gary Joyce), and Cindy Midkiff Hartmann; a stepdaughter, Elizabeth B. Lancaster; a stepson, Jonathan P. Lancaster (Janet); grandchildren, Jonathan McGraw (Olivia) and Aaron Hartmann (Steph); three great-grandchildren and one on the way; a brother, John R. Phillips, PhD; a dear friend, Diane Lovern; and many other relatives and friends.
Dot was a hard worker all her life. She could fix anything that was broken and was a creative problem solver. She was an excellent seamstress and cook who enjoyed going on cruises, dancing, sitting on the beach, gardening, farmers’ markets, and being with her family.
The family received friends on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford, followed by funeral services with Dennis Kinnan and Jim Holt officiating. Interment followed in West View Cemetery in Radford.
