Kendall Lewis of Christiansburg High School took the girls’ 55-meter hurdles in the state Class 3 indoor track meet held at Roanoke College. She crossed the line with a time of 8.46 seconds, almost two-tenths of a second ahead of her second-place opponent. The mark also set a new school record for the senior sprinter, who is headed to Radford University to run track in the fall. Christiansburg’s girls finished fifth in the team standings while the boys’ team placed sixth.
