At 98 years, Virginia Johnson has passed to join her husband in the early morning of Nov. 30, 2017 at her home in Radford. Born on April 26, 1919, she was married over 76 years to David Johnson.
She was a loving and devoted housewife, parent, grandparent and great grandparent. Always generous and caring toward those she loved and called family, she would do anything to help out when needed. As an avid lover of animals, she rescued numerous pets from the Humane Society, not to mention a few that just showed up at the doorstep over the years.
Her favorite color was green, symbolic of her nurturing nature and love for life. She will be greatly missed by many whose lives she touched. RIP Mom Mom.
Virginia is survived by two children, son Richard Johnson and daughter Sondra Yore; three grandchildren, Rick, Chris and David; and five great-grandchildren, Brooke, Kathryn, Owen, Renee and Lauren.
She will be interred beside her husband, who passed away in May, in the South Florida National Veterans Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL. Services will be private.
The Johnson family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
