Wayne Eugene Haynes, 93, of Fairlawn, Va., passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021, in his home with his family.
Wayne was an active member of Fairlawn Baptist Church for over 60 years. He was a retired Maintenance Foreman from RAAP and was co-owner of Haynes Brothers Camper Sales. He was a U. S. Army veteran. Wayne was married to Joyce, his fiery red-headed Kentucky gal, for 71 years.
Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Wayne Haynes; his grandson, Christopher Wayne Broyles; his parents, Alfred and Mary Haynes of Jenkins, Kent.; and his brothers, Charles, James, H.B., Earl, and Roy Haynes.
Survivors include his wife; his son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Jackie Haynes of Fairlawn; his daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Bill Turpin of Radford, and Beth and Kyle Richardson of Roanoke; 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; his sister, Freda Mullins of Jenkins, Kent..; and a large extended family.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Memorial services will begin at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Greg Harrell and Pastor Danny Collins officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the Women’s Resource Center or to God’s Pit Crew.
