Roger Harless, 68, of Blacksburg, Virginia, passed away on March 10, 2018 at Duke Medical Center, in Durham, NC, surrounded by family, after a long battle with heart and kidney failure.
Roger is survived by his son, Roger Lee Harless, Jr., and wife, Melissa Stewart; one brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Brenda Harless; sisters and brother-in-law, Bonnie Blount, Connie Burton, Peggy and Onofre DeJesus; nieces: Chris (John) Gosha, Melanie DeJesus, Melissa DeJesus; nephews: Michael (Holly) Blount, Marcus (Katie) Blount.
Roger was a veteran of the United States Army (5th Special Forces Group and with 25th Infantry) having served in Vietnam.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.
Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset expenses. The family will receive friends Friday, March 16 from 6 – 8 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
