Vincent Joseph Guerra, 80, of Blacksburg died, Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Queens, N.Y. on Sept. 19, 1938.
After being a gang member and drug addict in New York City, Vince became a follower of Jesus Christ which led to more than forty-five years of pastoral ministry. Most recently, he founded and pastored Triedstone Christian Center in Blacksburg, Va.
Vince was married to the late Ruth Beach Guerra for 44 years. In addition, he was a faithful father, grandfather, pastor and friend. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine Guerra Sarrge and Richard Sarrge of Radford, Va, sons and daughters-in-law, Jack Guerra and Gina Anderson Guerra of De Pere, WI., Vincent Guerra and Hope Turpin Guerra of Greenville, S.C., grandchildren, Jack Joseph Guerra(married to Sierra A. Guerra) of Bethesda, MD., Madeline Nicole Guerra of Green Bay, WI., Sophia Grace Guerra of Cleveland,TN., Dominic Christian Guerra of Lynchburg, Va., Selah Kathryn Guerra, Vincent Lake Guerra, Jordan Beach Guerra, Gabriella Hope Guerra all of Greenville, S.C., Kristen Sarrge (married to Jakob Lillvik) of The Dalles, OR., Casey Marie Sarrge of Eureka, CA., sister and brother-in-law, Rosemarie Pellegrino Carlson and Raymond Carlson of Melbourne, FL.
Funeral Services will be conducted today, Wednesday, Nov.14, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Eric Willoughby officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. The family were received friends Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
