Peggy Wilson Griffitts,78, died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at her home in Radford. Born on Feb. 10, 1940, she retired in 2002 from service to state government where she contributed eleven years as office manager for the School of Social Work at Radford University and twenty-two years with the regional office of the Virginia Department of Education in Radford.
Devoted to her family, she is survived by her mother, Myrtle Cook of Radford; her husband of 58 years, Roy Griffitts of Radford; four sons and a daughter, Randall (Joe) of Charlotte, N.C., Steven (Patricia) of Fort Myers, Fla., Phillip (Vonda) of Radford, Joseph (Kimberly) also of Radford and Amanda (Arash) Zarrabian of Falls Church, Va.; 8 grandchildren, Jordan Edwards(Ryan) of Roanoke, Kelsey, Hunter, Parker and Kyle Griffitts of Radford and Reid, Camille and Nicholas Zarrabian of Falls Church; a great-grandson, Brock McCarter Edwards of Roanoke; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Regina Griffitts of Marion; and a niece, Tracy Griffitts Williams and her family.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m., today, Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Memorial services will follow with Dr. Paul Lane officiating.
