Betty spent the more active years of her adult life as a military officer’s wife. She made a home for her family on any military base to which her husband was assigned. Her natural talent in bringing beauty to her surroundings helped in adjusting to a new location, to new schools for her children and to new efforts to build a sense of community both at home and abroad. Betty exhibited a sense of loyalty to family and friends, remaining strong as she experienced both life’s joy and life’s pain. Her sense of humor and the ability to laugh at life’s hardships will always be remembered and missed. Betty would smile if she could read this last line, she was indeed a unique personality, and we will indeed wish she were here.
