Marvareen Porter Fulcher entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, morning, Jan. 8, 2019, at the age of 86 years.
She was born in Gilliam, West Virginia and grew up in a coal mining town where her father was a tippel manager. She graduated from Northfork High School with the class of 1949, and the Smithdeal-Massey Business College in Richmond, Virginia in 1950.
She met and married her husband of 68 years in 1950. She worked faithfully by his side for those years in ministry for the Lord’s kingdom. As a ministry team, they traveled extensively in southwest Virginia, North Carolina and Tennessee conducting tent revivals throughout the 1950’s. Many lives were touched and changed through her singing and music and her husband’s ministry. They pastored several churches in West Virginia and Virginia before building Christian Fellowship Tabernacle in 1962 in Christiansburg where they have pastored until the present. She traveled world-wide in ministry with her favorite destination being annual trips to Israel for many years as a tour host.
She has touched many, many lives around the globe as a friend and counselor to those in any walk of life. Her generous and giving heart has blessed many. Her life of service laid countless treasures in heaven where she now rejoices with those gone before.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Matthew 25:21.
She is survived by her beloved husband Reverend Earnest C. Fulcher; one son, Dr. E.C. Fulcher, Jr. of Abingdon, Maryland; one daughter, Marva Rebekah Coffey and husband, Rev. Barry Coffey of Riner, VA; and a sister, Lois (Susie) King of Chesterfield, VA. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Anna Maria Fulcher, Deborah Sinsky (Robert), Lydia Dominguez (Jose), Andrew Coffey (Rebekah), Peter Coffey (Rachel), Stephen Coffey (Sarah) and Lukas Coffey.
