RADFORD – Ishmale Davis, a 23-year-old Radford man who was leading a specialized post-secondary preparation program for Radford High School students, has been arrested on charges involving child pornography and taking indecent liberties with a child.
Davis was leading the Jobs for Virginia’s Graduates (JVG), an extension of the national Jobs for American Graduates program, at Radford High School prior to his arrest on July 27 on several charges related to a juvenile over the age of 15. According to Radford City Schools Superintendent Robert Graham, Davis is no longer employed by RCPS. Graham said Monday, he cannot not make any comment on a personnel matter.
A graduate of Radford University, Davis was the JVG Specialist at RHS. JVG is a grant-funded program with four main goals: to help students graduate, seek post-secondary education, obtain a job, and get started on a solid career path.
Davis is being held without bond at the New River Valley Regional Jail. The charges against him include consensual intercourse with a minor, four counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor, six counts of enticing a minor to participate in pornography, six counts of producing or making child pornography, six counts of taking part in or filming child pornography, and seven counts of possession of obscene materials.
A hearing in Davis’s case has been set for Sept. 10 in Radford Circuit Court.
