The Virginia Tech Athletics Department has announced that a limited number of seats from Cassell Coliseum will be available for purchase by Hokie fans.
This process will begin May 15. Revenue raised in the selling of the seats will go towards enhancements to the fan experience in Cassell Coliseum.
Earlier this year, the department announced that a portion of Cassell Coliseum seats would be upgraded to wider, cushioned seats with cup holders. Due to this renovation, a select number of arena seats can now be purchased as mementoes of the Hokie experience. These are the original seats of Cassell Coliseum, which opened in 1962.
Seats will be available for purchase in groups of two for $375 per pair. Fans can purchase seats in any combination of two. There will be no delivery of the seats due to the weight of the seats. Fans will be given a time frame to pick up the seats in person at Cassell Coliseum. Those dates will be set at time of purchase. Universal Seating will handle all aspects of the selling of these seats.
