A “Family Fun Festival” will be held at New River Community College in Dublin on Saturday, Feb. 25, from 1-4 p.m.
The Family Fun Festival will include a variety of activities for adults and children. Children’s activities will include face painting, balloon art, a bouncy house and games. There will also be several science tables with animal displays including snakes, a red-tailed hawk, a scorpion, genetically modified fish, millipedes, tarantulas and Madagascar hissing cockroaches. The cockroaches will also be part of a “cockroach race” event.
Other activities will include 3-D printing demonstrations, health and wellness activities and live music. Music will be provided by the band “Don’t Quit Your Day Job.”
There will be a tricycle race for children around 1:45 p.m. during the band’s intermission. The race is for children five years old or younger and the winner will receive a briefcase full of school supplies. Please bring your own tricycle for the race.
Free popcorn will be offered with additional food for sale by NRCC student organizations.
Sponsored by NRCC’s Faculty Assembly, the event is free and open to the public and will take place in 117 Edwards Hall.
