The Radford Public Library will offer a falconry program with Dr. Kerri Cooper-Bailey Friday, July 30 at
11 a.m. Cooper-Bailey is an avian and exotic veterinarian.
Participants will learn about falcons, falconry, and flights of fancy in this summer reading “Tails and
Tales” event for and all ages, including children.
Also, the next library book sale, which is the primary fundraiser for the Lamplighters, is happening on
Friday, Aug. 6, from 10 a. m. until 5 p.m.; on Saturday, Aug. 7, also from 10 a. m. until 5 p.m.; and on
Sunday, Aug. 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. The event will follow COVID safety guidelines. Library staff and
Lamplighters will wear masks regardless of vaccination status. Shoppers/patrons who are not fully
vaccinated are required to wear a mask. Masks and gloves will be provided at no cost at the entrance to
the library. Shoppers are encouraged to keep a distance of six feet or more from other shoppers. Some
tables will be set up inside the library, beyond the community room, to increase the shopping space size.
