Mary Elizabeth (Price) Epperly, 67, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017. No doubt she was greeted there by her first husband, true love, and father of her three children, Bernard Alvin Price.
She is survived by her children, Amy Harris, and her husband Joe; Dennis Price and his wife Dania; and her baby boy, Christopher Price. Her biggest joys were her beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth Foster Harris and her partner Jason Campbell; Margarett Grace Harris, and Tyler Harris. She also had a beautiful great-grandchild in Jolene Harris, and cared deeply for Jolene’s half-sister Olivia and half-brother James. All of her children and grandchildren brought immeasurable pride and joy to her life.
She is also survived by her brothers, Doug Sheppard and wife Bonnie; and Ricky Sheppard, as well as her half-sister Carol Cadle. Mary was also blessed to have several special people in her life that were like family, though not related. These included Mandy Jo Price and her husband Nelson, and Christy Dillon. There are also scores of cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends that knew Mary and were always welcomed in the holler.
It would be impossible to list in this tiny column all of the people that Mary had a positive impact on. She was unique, and people were drawn to her. She liked to joke and not take herself too seriously. Most importantly, she liked to have fun, and she liked to help others enjoy themselves, as well. Though cancer may have taken her body, her indomitable spirit lives on in our hearts and minds.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to everyone on the 10th floor palliative care unit at Roanoke Memorial who made Mary’s last moments as comfortable and positive as they could have been. Special thanks to Dr. Morel, Carolyn, Gwen, Jason, Morgan, and Hannah.
