Elliston man convicted of sex crimes against a child

MONTGOMERY COUNTY – An Elliston man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for crimes against a child.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, William Terrill Hurt III, 56, of Elliston was sentenced to a 25-year prison sentence on Dec. 8.

Hurt was convicted of object sexual penetration, aggravated sexual battery, indecent liberties with a child by custodian, indecent liberties with a child, child endangerment and child abuse and neglect.

“This sentence is the result of a lengthy and thorough investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, which began in June 2024 related to incidents beginning in 2000,” the MCSO.
