The city is currently seeing about $8 million in development activity, Radford City Manager David Ridpath reported to the Radford City Council Monday.
The Highlander Hotel, pictured here, is one of the reasons for that total and is a project of the Radford University Foundation. Ridpath said the hotel should be operational in 30 to 60 days. Other commercial development is happening along East and West Main Streets, Ridpath said, adding the city is experiencing one of the highest number of new residential properties being developed in recent history, “ everything from apartments to patio homes and single family homes in a wide variety of prices.”
“There’s a lot of good news on the economical development side right now,” Ridpath said.
