The Eastern Montgomery boys’ soccer team capped a great season on Saturday in the state title game.
While they fell in the finals, the school placed 14 players on the All-Pioneer District team announced shortly after.
Talan Bruce was named the Pioneer All-District player of the year, and his coach Whittney Shaver was named coach of the year. The team finished 18-3-1 this past season and lost in the regional finals to cross-county rival Auburn.
Saturday, Eastern Montgomery fell 7-1 to Northampton.
Nine Mustangs were named to the first-team including Bruce, goalie Chase Bierman, Osman Amaya, Aija McHone, Spencer Sisson, Caleb Sampson, Kevin Mateo, Cryus Underwood and Parker Wonner.
Second teamers were: Issac Carlton, Victor Wonner, Nick Smith, Eric Cruz, Davin Gravely and Issac Stiltner.
In baseball, Eastern Montgomery pitcher Colton Conner was named to the Pioneer District first-team.
