Lucille Simpkins Phillips Duncan, 91, passed away Monday, Dec. 25, 2017 at her home in Christiansburg. Born on March 3, 1926, she attended Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church and retired from the food service department at Radford University.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold David Duncan; parents, Thomas and Doshie Simpkins; and son, Victor Cline Phillips.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah and Richard Dowdy of Riner, and Linda and Warren Flinchum of Snowville; grandchildren, Aaron Dowdy, J.T. (Amber) Flinchum, Samantha Owens and Tito Phillips; great grandchildren, Maggie Owens, Marta T. Phillips, Davide Phillips, Adele Phillips and Warren Flinchum; daughter-in-law, Lotus Phillips of Roanoke; and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank Carilion NRV Hospice for all their care.
The family received friends on Dec. 29, 2017 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services were held with Rev. Craig Reed officiating. Interment followed in Snowville Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Harbor of Hope Church, 2720 Roanoke St., Christiansburg, VA 24073 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
