Only one week remains for Hokie Club members and season ticket holders to place their ticket orders for the Hokies’ season-opening football game against West Virginia at FedExField on Sept. 3. The deadline for those orders is next Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Tickets will be filled by Hokie Club priority and then by date of order for season ticket holders who do not donate to the Hokie Club. Hokie Club members may purchase up to six tickets in priority.
The prices of tickets range from $75-$199 depending on seat and section. Those who wish to purchase tickets may do so online through hokietickets.com, or by clicking here. Fans also can return the application that already had been mailed. Tickets will be shipped to purchasers in mid- to late August.
The contest will mark the 52nd meeting between the two schools, with Tech owning a two-game winning streak in the series that dates back to 1912. The Hokies claimed a 34-17 victory in the most recent game in Morgantown in 2005 and also won a 19-13 decision against then-No. 6 West Virginia at Lane Stadium in 2004.
This season’s game will mark Virginia Tech’s fourth appearance at FedExField since 2004. The two teams last played a neutral-site game in 1962 when both sides met in Richmond, Virginia. Tech and West Virginia also will play a two-game series starting in 2021, with the Hokies traveling to Morgantown for a Sept. 18, 2021 game and the Mountaineers coming to Blacksburg for a Sept. 24, 2022 contest.
The Virginia Tech Athletics Department placed student tickets for the West Virginia game on sale March 20 and already has sold its allotment. Students must pick up these tickets at the Virginia Tech Athletics Ticket Office on Aug. 29-31.
