Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 8 a.m. until noon, individuals from local businesses, organizations, and the general community are encouraged to volunteer their time as a part of the United Way of the New River Valley’s Day of Caring Event.
Individuals, a business, school, or civic organization can make a difference in the community by volunteering to assist with projects for local non-profit health and human service agencies.
Individuals and groups of volunteers will be matched with projects convenient for them from needed projects submitted by local United Way partner agencies and other critical local non-profits.
Day of Caring is more than just a community service project. It offers participants, and their business, school and/or civic organization a chance to give back to the community, improve team building, increase community awareness, network with others and to see first-hand the impact United Way and local human service non-profits have on the quality of life in the NRV.
In previous years, projects have included landscaping, storage organization, painting, serving meals, working with agency clients, and more. For details, visit www.unitedwaynrv.org or give us a call at (540) 381-2066.
Sign-ups for Day of Caring Volunteers are now underway, and volunteers are still needed.
To register, contact Marcela Jara, Community Engagement Director of United Way of the New River Valley at (540) 381-2066 or marcela@unitedwaynrv.org.
