Born in August 1930, Nancy, later known as Lisa, grew up in Rock Hill, S.C., the oldest of seven children of the late Guy and Bessie Sparks Steele.
She is predeceased by her daughter Sybil Wille, brothers and sisters Guy Steele and Charlie Steele, Peggy Henderson, and Ann Sellers. Her sisters Bette Hudson and Phyllis Turney still reside in their hometown of Rock Hill, SC. Also left to remember her are her children, Clif Davis, of Baton Rouge, LA, and Celeste Lee of Roanoke, VA, eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren all of whom will miss her greatly.
Lisa was a free spirit and loved to read and travel, especially in her early years. She lived in South Carolina, North Carolina, Colorado, California, Louisiana and Virginia. She was happiest when spending time with young people and also enjoyed doing small favors for the elderly. She was a “foodie” at heart and had many interests including decorating, party planning, classical music and intellectual conversation.
With that in mind, Lisa asked that no funeral service be held for her but instead a party planned for celebration of life, where yummy snacks and pretty party napkins are a must. The celebration will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Warm Hearth’s Kroontje Health Care Center and Good Samaritan Hospice for the care and kindness given during her last years of life.
