William “Billy” Dewey Cox, 48, of Snowville, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019. He was a youth group leader and the choir director at Gethsemane Baptist Church and employed with Verizon for 28 years. Born on Nov. 30, 1970, he was preceded in death by his father, Sherlie Lee Cox.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Sandra L. Cox of Snowville; his daughter and her fiancé, Courtney Brooke Cox and Joel Benjamin Vest; his son, Brandon Frazier Cox; mother, Ida Joyce Cox of Snowville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Exil Keith Cox, Philip Lee and Lisa Cox, and Johnny Lee and Amanda Cox, all of Snowville; sister-in-law and her husband, Jennifer and Marty Carr of Pearisburg; nephews, Travis (Toshia) Cox, and Liam Cox; nieces, Kayla, Rebecca, Emily and Laura Cox and Gretchen Carr; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, 2019 at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Radford with Pastor Brent Strouf officiating. Interment will follow in the Dishon Family Cemetery in Pulaski County.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Gethsemane Baptist Youth Group, 2008 Preston St., Radford, VA 24141.
