Sealed Bids for the construction of the Main Street Resurfacing will be received by the City of Radford, at 10 Robertson Street, Radford, VA 24141, until 3 PM local time on August 6, 2024, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Project consists of Resurfacing of 1.25 miles of East Main Street East of
Tyler Avenue (Displays included in Bidding Documents).
Resurfacing will include 2” of surface milling and overlay with VDOT Std. SM-9.5D asphalt, restriping per existing conditions, and ADA compliant curb ramp upgrades, and associated appurtenances.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 AM local time on Monday July 15, 2024 at the City offices,
10 Robertson Street, Radford, VA.
Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged.
Bid security shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
The procedure for withdrawal of bids shall be in accordance with procedure set out in Section 2.2-4330(B)(1) of the
Code of Virginia
The successful bidder must comply with the Presidents Executive Order #11246, prohibiting discrimination in
employment regarding race, creed, sex, or national origin; Executive Orders #12138 and 11625 regarding utilization
of MBE/WBE subcontractors in the performance of this contract; provide certification that they do not or will not maintain or provide for their employees facilities that are segregated on the basis of race, color, creed, or national origin; comply with the provisions of Civil Rights Act of 1964; and comply with the
Davis-Bacon Act.
Consistent with
Executive Order 13858, “Strengthening Buy-American Preferences for Infrastructure Projects,” the
Contractor is encouraged to use, to the greatest extent practicable, iron and aluminum as well as steel, cement, and other manufactured products produced in the United States in every contract, subcontract, purchase order, or subaward that is chargeable under this Award.
