RADFORD – The Radford City Council meeting scheduled for this Monday, June 10 will include a public hearing regarding the proposed budget amendment of $3,647,783 to the Radford City School Board budget for F.Y. 2024.
“The majority of these funds are from the All-In Tutoring (LINK) initiative from the state that we were awarded a few months back,” explained RCPS Superintendent Dr. Adam Joyce. “Each school division received these funds to help combat learning loss and absenteeism.”
“There are other current budget year changes from small increases from the state,” he added. “In addition, a percentage of the extra funding is for our capital reserve projects fund. This fund is very helpful to our division in that it’s ongoing year-over-year and includes unspent school funds that carry over to help us pay for unexpected facility upkeep projects that might crop up.”
