Christiansburg High School senior lacrosse player Xander Grimes has announced plans to play collegiate lacrosse at Barton College in the fall.
Barton College is a private liberal arts college in Wilson, N.C. The college is affiliated with the Christian Church and enrolls nearly 1,200 students on campus.
“I chose Barton because of the tight-knit community within the school and the town of Wilson,” Grimes said.
Barton College is a member of Conference Carolina’s Division III athletics. Grimes expects to play midfield at the school.
A four-year starter at Christiansburg, Grimes played 24 total games, scored 52 goals and handed out 15 assists. He served as a team captain for the past three seasons.
On the field at Barton, Grimes hopes to contribute to winning both a conference and a national title. He plans to major in exercise science.
