The Side-Out Foundation helps people with breast cancer regain control of their lives and started fundraising efforts through the sport of volleyball called Dig Pink Nights. Tuesday night, Christiansburg held their annual event in a contest against Cave Spring. Players sported pink jerseys and recognized individuals fighting the tough battle off the court.
Freddy Smith brought his fight cancer truck to Christiansburg’s Dig Pink Night. On the court, Christiansburg downed Cave Spring 25-23, 25-20 and 24-21. Blythe Akers led the team with eight kills, while Ela Shepherd had seven kills and 10 digs.
