James Carson Campbell, 77, of Floyd, went to Heaven on Tuesday, October 15, 2019. Born on April 7, 1942, he was retired from Hubbell Lighting and was a member of Auburn Baptist Church where he served many years as a choir director and deacon. Carson loved golf, hunting, singing gospel music and most of all he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellick and Maddie Sue Campbell.
Survivors include his wife and sweetheart of 57 years, Ann Campbell; sons, Tim (Tammy) Campbell of Wilmington, N.C., Mike (Karen) Campbell of Radford, and Steve (Connie) Campbell, Moultrie, Ga.; sisters, Joyce (Ken) Geise of Sunbury, Penn. And Diane (Tommy) Myers of Appomattox; sister-in-law, Laura McNeill of Dublin; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
The family received friends on Friday, Oct. 18, 2019 at Auburn Baptist Church. A memorial service followed with Pastor Shake Smith and Pastor Josh Blankenship officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Auburn Baptist Church Building Fund, 3840 Riner Road, Riner, VA 24149.
The Campbell family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
