The Coal Mining Heritage Association of Montgomery County will hold its 25th Annual Coal Miners Day Celebration from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on May 19 at the McCoy Community Park.
There will be live music from Heaven Bound, High Grass, The Route 8 Ramblers and Half Throttle.
“The Appalachian Aftershock Clogging Group will be there,” Gavin Faulkner, treasurer of the group wrote in an announcement. “There will also be Coal Mining Exhibits, a Classic Car Drive-In, crafts, demonstrations, a Silent Auction and food for purchase.“
At 2 p.m. there will be a memorial ceremony honoring former coal miners,” Admission is free and McCoy Park is behind the Longshop-McCoy Fire Station at 5770 McCoy Road, Blacksburg.
