The Town of Blacksburg Public Arts Committee is seeking design submissions from artists who are local, regional, or familiar with the Blacksburg area.

The Drawing on Draper project will provide a family-friendly, interactive, and creative engagement activity for the community in the pedestrian area of Draper Road. Designs will focus on the natural beauty of the area and consist of three 10×12 foot, simple, outlined coloring book pages connected by a painted stream on the existing asphalt surface.

Submissions are accepted via email to drawingondraper@blacksburg.gov and must be submitted by Friday, July 18, 2025, at 5 p.m. to be considered by the selection committee.

Before submitting a design for consideration, artists should visit https://letstalkblacksburg.org/drawing-on-draper to learn more about the project details, guidelines, and requirements.
