The community is invited to join Buchanan on Friday, April 7 at 11 a.m. on the Buchanan Town Park for the town’s 11th annual Arbor Day Celebration.
This year also marks Buchanan’s 10th year designation as a Tree City USA Community.
Individuals are invited to be part of Buchanan’s efforts to help keep the Chesapeake Bay clean when trees are planted on the Buchanan Town Park Friday.
The morning’s activities include a brief program featuring guest speakers Del. Terry Austin and Virginia Department of Forestry representatives Joe Boswell and Lara Johnson.
During the event, representatives from the town will unveil the Buchanan Arbor Day Plaque showcasing donations from the public as well as the Virginia Trees for Clean Water Grant from the Virginia Department of Forestry.
Following the program the public is invited to help plant trees on the Buchanan Town Park.
