Blacksburg’s Mia Littlejohn claimed first place wins in the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles as the Lady Bruins rolled to the team title in this weekend’s Cosmo track meet held at William Fleming High School.
Blacksburg racked up 120 points to second place Northside and Roanoke Catholic’s 51 points.
Sarah Deutsch added to the individual wins for the Bruins in the pole vault and would serve as leg of the winning 4-by-400 meter relay win.
The Blacksburg boys’ team also took the 2023 Cosmo title with 75 points in a close meet with William Byrd second with 64. Pulaski and Franklin County finished tied for third with 52 points.
Blacksburg’s Will Harrison won the boys 110-meter hurdles (14.74 seconds) and 300 hurdles (39.71), while teammates Ben Hager and Daniel Bandera won the 400-meter dash (50.72) and 800 dash (2:01.75).
Auburn’s Kasey Rosebaum won the girls’ 3,200 meter race with a 11:56.21 time. On the boys’ side of the track, Drew Royal brought home first place in the high jump while Talan Mower was first in the pole vault.
